This was one of the lightest categories, the winners easily rose to the top. We liked the hazmat picture best, the spray and lighting made it work. Use of the drone in the second place made for a unique storytelling perspective of the accident. This one could have been stronger if some on the ground pics were also entered as a multiple entry. Not a lot going on in the third-place entry, but props to the photographer for getting to the scene fast enough to get flames. The alternate was interesting with the reflection of the airplane on the tarmac, but needed a human element to make it really work.
