Judges were disappointed with all the typos in the captions. First and second place immediately stood out in an overall weak category. Tighter cropping would have elevated multiple entries. First - A powerful emotional image. Second - A lot of commotion, judges thought perhaps a vertical crop would have eliminated some of the clutter. Third - An interesting picture from the aftermath of a house fire.
