Judges Comments
There were a number of photographs that we all agreed belonged in the top six category and, as was the case with most of the categories, there was a great deal of discussion around the finalists and their order. As is often the case, captions that included complete information helped elevate photographs. The judges were unanimous in agreement that the strength of first place was its mix of grit and humor between the cast, the green boat/hat and the expression of the rower. Second-place earned its spot with the strong delivery of emotion. Third-place was chosen for its impactful depiction of a quiet moment. Kudos to the photographer for including the extra context of the FFA badge in the moment.
