Judges Comments

It was hard to look away from the abundant number of solar eclipse photos in this category. The ones that rose above the rest were the first and third place selections. First place had a lot elements going for it, including the reflection in the hood. Third was a nicely framed photo of totality. Second was a delight. Very nice moment from a naturalization ceremony. The in-between moment shows everyone in their own element. Nicely done. Honorable mention to the Sun Down, Tents Up. There were a couple of really nice photos that could have stood on their own in this category. They were unfortunately swallowed up by other repetitive shots.
