First Place – We were convinced the photographer was invisible to the First Responders. How that happens in 2023? We don’t know. How often does a photojournalist get that kind of access to an active scene with ongoing extrication? Well pretty unusual and a good job getting in there and getting it. Second place had a somber feel especially with the light on the deceased. Third place showed a good effort by the photographer to get down into the ditch with his subject.
