Judges Comments

Sports feature was another tough category to judge and featured some strong images that made it difficult to choose between the top five. First place was well-framed/composed and the photographer took advantage of some nice lighting that complimented the subjects and their expressions/poses. We felt the final image could have been toned slightly better after seeing that the highlights were blowing out. The photographer in second place took great advantage of the light and set a great mood for the moment. Some of us felt that the composition of the subjects shot through the equipment could have been slightly better and a slight crop would have made the image even better. Our third place selection would have placed far higher had it been submitted to the Portrait/Illustration category. we enjoyed the lighting and reflection within the player's visor. The frame contained enough context to make it instantly recognizable.
