We thought that the surfing photo rose above the rest for its storytelling qualities. This a good photo on its own that also excellently captures that moment in time for the community with the incoming storm and the damage from the previous one.
Second and third both show a sense of a community and capture the feature idea of a slice of life. They are also both nice seeing in moments that might otherwise be chaotic. A final note, there were a lot of good images in here but a good number felt like they belonged in general news.
