Golden Gloves wins for the journalist's work on getting intimate moments with the subject. While the other boxing story in 3rd and worked, in Golden Gloves we see moments outside the ring and that is what makes this story stand out above the rest. The teacher's story is shot well enough, but again, the journalism and well rounded nature of the piece makes it work better than others. For the honorable mention, Draft Night, we can see potential in the photographer's work, but there was too much repetition in frames. They need to work on editing down better. However, we included them because you can see they are on the right track in terms of storytelling. They just need some work on editing.
