Shocked to see only two entries and both are from the same photographer. However, this photographer seems to be a solid news photographer and turns in solid work.
For the first place photo we liked the dynamics and action but wish we could see the eyes just a little more.
For second place the image has a nice composition and makes an Interesting photo. We like how the photo was layered.
* A general note for all of the categories except for spot news. The quality of photos is generally high but we wish there were more people entering. It seems like only a few people entered each category. Spot news was weak again but that's the nature of the business with fewer photographers available to cover these as they unfold.
