Judges Comments

This category was tough. We know that it is cliche to say "weakest category by far." In this case, we were surprised that in this region that includes Southern California that there were only four entries for spot news. None the less, we wanted to award a couple that were good enough to earn a place. 1st - The water rescue was really after the rescue itself but was still a solid picture. 2nd - This image had a nice use of a slow shutter but that at least made for another solid picture.
