Judges Comments

Three entries, and all three had merit. A happy conclusion to the judging session. Nothing was really outstanding, but all were solid examples of spot news reporting, and there was some effort at balancing the reporting with the aesthetics that appealed. Exact order of placement was difficult. In first, the accident scene had a strong sense of chaos, while still being nicely framed and readable. For second, the lone firefighter was well exposed, nicely composed and had an almost incongruous feeling of serenity in face of disaster. Third place goes to the drone shot of the flooding which was nicely composed, very clean, and very illustrative of the situation.
