Judges Comments

1st A well-rounded essay on another wildfire. Great moments that give us a thorough look into the tragedy. It had details, pictorials and the effect of the fire on humans (and animals). 2nd The drought picture essay as told by drone (we're guessing) has some storytelling images with solid composition and color. It had one or two images that could have been cut for redundancy sake, but overall great stuff. 3rd The story on the football team getting back to it after having their previous season cancelled due to COVID-19 had some good singles, but wasn't thorough enough. The photographer worked hard and got access into their locker room, but we just felt like it was missing some pictures that would have told more about the importance of the team to the school/town. A fan picture or a picture to give a sense of community would have gone a long way.
