We usually don’t see much humor in spot news but the first place image makes us do a double take. At first glance, the harness holding up the car isn’t seen and it looks like the car is in the middle of a plummet to the ground. It’s a good reminder that even when we might be late to a scene, a good image can come out of it. In second place is a photograph of the aftermath of a loaded semi-truck dumping its load on the highway below. The photographer positioned themselves in a great location to photograph the scene. And third place goes to a photograph where the photographer came away with a creative image of a scene where there weren’t many possibilities.
