1st place: Exhibits an excellent comprehension of the gravity of the subject matter, and captures the story through a wide range of situations and emotions. 2nd place. 2nd place: Some good found moments, but too much of a reliance on super wides and close up details, without focusing on what makes the story come together. 3rd place: Too few photos, and too short a story arc, to constitute an actual photo essay, but, some good found moments in between.
