Overall, while we thought there were some really wonderful photographs, we thought that just about half of the entries felt like there hadn’t been any effort to create a thoughtful image. First place rose to the top for all us as it is perfectly composed, beautiful contrast and great timing. Second place: We liked the photographer’s use of panning of the subjects to add to the emotion of the event. The hoods, the deep tones and panning all accentuated the mystique of the religious ceremony. Third place is a nicely composed, humorous moment.
