First place was a photo of a vigil with lots of emotion. Second place was of Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke as she walked to her office. The caption was important here giving context as to what was going on and the significance of the event. Third place was of a duck drinking out of a kiddie pool. At first we questioned it as a general news photo, but again the caption provided important information. The pool was set up for animals to drink from after the pond was drained to remove sediment.
