Lots of images that we felt were very much planned events (ie. general news) even if they were lighter we still felt they did not fit the found moment/slice of life feeling we would prefer. The winners were those that met the standard. First place was a great found moment within news coverage, well composed, funny and poignant. Second place read quickly and easily and brough a smile to our faces. Third was a great visual composition. We would have preferred, as journalists, to have the name of a single, identifiable, subject in a feature photo. We also liked the photo of the police giving directions to the passing motorist ... it was probably the most Found Moment in the whole category ... but a lack of IDs to round out the storytelling aspect bumped it off our top three.
