TH KGTV Look How Different 8 8 9 8 Great Job. One of the best deadline stories I've judged this round. Please use a lav, the stick mic is 1992, its time to move on and embrace the lav. Love your nat sequences. Your lens is awesome, I'm jealous of it. Great work.
BS KGTV Look How Different 8 9 8 8 Awesome nats of crews working during the beginning! love the nat sequences and nat pops! However, you front loaded the story so I didn't have anything to keep me hanging on throughout. I would have liked to see the nats bring it back to the nats of the crew. The photography is amazing, great job.
ZW KGTV Look How Different 8 9 8 9 Great opening, very nicely composed shots throughout. The nat breaks helped tell the story. You clearly have a great eye for photography. The story itself was pretty boring but you made it pop with great photography. I almost always get angry when I see a stick mic, but honestly the stick mic didnt bother me on this particular story. I can tell it was a run and gun situation.
DJ KGTV Look How Different 9 9 9 9 Great story. Loved hearing everything. You really moved around and gave me a sense of what the subway looks and sounds like. Very informative and had focus. I did feel like it was missing that person who rides the subway and how they think. We heard a lot from the Governor. Maybe less of him and more from random person you takes the train every day. Other than that, great great job. Really enjoyed it.
GST KGTV Look How Different 8 9 8 8 Clean, sharp shooting and editing. Loved the parting shot and sound "enjoy your station". You worked well with your reporter from news gathering to writing. I have a feeling you could have mic'd up some of the folks in the story... if I never saw a stick mic, your story would be 9s and 10s.

TH KGTV Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags 9 8 7 8 This is some solid NPPA'ing right here. Very hard to find any problems with it photography-wise. Wide, medium, tights, nat sequences, lav'd up interviews, awesome work. Don't have much to critique on which is a good thing I suppose. You took one room of flurescent lighting and made it interesting. GREAT job!
BS KGTV Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags 9 9 9 9 Amazing use of nats throughout the pkg. The shot of all the boxes lined up against the wall made me go "WOW," very powerful. Loved that you put the mic on multiple people and let them do their thing so you got their natural sound. I would have liked to see a little more movement on the picture, I wasn't sure at first if it was moving and got a bit distracted. Loved how many shots you got in a small, limited room that could have been really ugly. You made it pop! Loved the last line of the story.
ZW KGTV Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags 8 9 7 8 Very good story for what it was. Good nat breaks and range of interviews. Nice job putting the mic on and letting them go. This room looked pretty hard to navigate around but you did a great job getting a variety of shots to tell a compelling story. Great pacing!
DJ KGTV Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags 8 8 7 8 Loved all the nats. Great job moving around the space. I felt like I was there. Great reveals for what the story was. This could have been a cut and dry military story but you went above and beyond to make it great. Awesome job.
GST KGTV Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags 9 8 7 8 "Loved that you mic'd several people for nat sound. I felt like there were a lot of little moments that made the story shine. I've shot quite a few of this exact kind of story, you made it interesting. I liked the reveal about the son. Thumbs up.

TH KGTV Flood Family 7 7 7 7 NIce job. Sad story, nicely told. Loved the photography, reflection shots for days. Wouldve left the shot of the two walking down the steps up longer, it was powerful. Nice editing to the pace of your reporter. Overall clean job!
BS KGTV Flood Family 7 7 7 7 "I LOVED the shots of the reflections in the water! Great job getting creative! I definitely wanted to hear more than just the one nat of him walking through water. Good shot of the pictures under water. The story felt too long. I did not understand why you panned down to the water during the tab. It was distracting. Good solid story with good photography.

ZW KGTV Flood Family 8 8 8 8 Very compelling video! I can tell you really went above and beyond to get the shots you needed. The nats were nicely weaved between the bites. I really loved the reflection shot. Also a good reveal about the daughter and her memories. Great closing shot! Good job on this, I've covered a lot of flooding and I know how gross it is to get in that water. Awesome job!
DJ KGTV Flood Family 7 7 7 7 Great use of nats. Loved hearing the water and the creaking of the door. One note would be maybe to up the pacing. It dragged a bit toward the middle. Plus, I don't think you need the reporter intro and tag. And I believe you're supposed to mix your audio so its doesn't go left and right. Other than that, I really enjoyed the piece. Keep doing what you're doing.

" Flood Family 7 7 7 7 "I liked the nats of the water/walking. I would have liked even more! I liked the moments of the girl saying ""it's OK"" and Dad opening the door. Those real moments really made the story shine. Pay attention to the standard rules of the competetion. Kill the reporter's intro and tag, marry the audio channels before submitting. Overall good work.
