CW - WIAT Arlington Fire 7 9 8 10 The opening sequence was wonderful. It really brought the chaos of a big fire home. I like that you used to viewer video, but didn't rely on it. So often we're pressured into playing great video multiple times. Beautifully composed shots and I loved the framing on the first interview. SD - WIAT Arlington Fire 7 8 9 9 This was an awesome way of telling the typical structure fire - I love the opening sequence making this sotry bigger than what it was - I love the position of the interview - would have liked some light on his face but i like the creativity. Great nats.

CW - WIAT Petey The Parakeet 8 9 8 8 Really good emotion off the top. I really felt for the kid thanks to your parrallel parking with the voice track between sound bites -- really glad you didn't cut away from that moment. I also liked the NATs underneath the opening establisher. Good mixture of showing the cell phone video full and on the actual phone. Really well done overall. SD -WIAT Petey The Parakeet 9 9 9 8 This was really well done. The emotion off the top was great - and I like how you unraveled the story with what happened and that awesome shot of the mom holding the cell phone. Great story.

CW - WIAT Parachutes And Cannons 8 9 7 9 What a cool (pun intended) look inside the military that we rarely get. There was a nice variety of NAT sound. I also like the variation of shots ranging from following motion to steady shots allowing action to happen inside the frame. I could've used a little more information about the drill via sound bites. The story also ended rather abruptly -- didn't feel like it was tied up with a nice bow. However, the quality of the rest of the story more than made up for it. SD - WIAT Parachutes And Cannons 9 9 8 9 This was really well shot - I love how well you strung the nats through

CW - WIAT Holiday Travelers 7 8 8 8 Glad I don't live in LA! The time lapses were well executed and used well. I loved that you got bites from people hurrying up to leave, etc instead of a bunch of static standard set-ups. The Rubix Cube guy was a good find. I loved the end with the tie-in between his ability to solve the puzzle and the speed of traffic. The reporter in-put was funny and effective at first, but it got old towards the end. Could've used more tight shots and NAT sound as well. SD - WIAT Holiday Travelers 8 9 10 9 Loved the sequence of shots and angles - really well done. I love the tone of this story - very lighthearted and very humorous especially with the reporter input. Love the way you wrote this otherwise typical holiday piece.
