T.S. KYTV 9 10 9 10 Beautiful story. You nailed it. Every shot, every edit had a purpose. Great open to great moments to a good closing sequence. Props to your reporter for writing a good story too!
JH KYTV 9 9 8 9 Loved this! The way it started I thought this was a story about Vegas or something. The fast cuts and high energy were good, then a reveal in the reporter track and the cuts slow down for a while. It really helped me feel the gravity of the situation for those coming to the center. You had lots of good moments and nats that all supported the story very well. Your opening and closing shots were very good. The pull out on the closer was a nice touch, and the final line "another day in valet" was perfect. I am struggling to find some criticism besides export your video better! The quality was very poor, but I didn't take anything off for that, but it did possibly make it hard to fully appreciate the photography. Just one cut int here was a little off to me, shots were incredibly similar back to back when talking about his smile.
RF KYTV 10 9 9 10 WOW this was awesome! When I think about NPPA this is what it is about. Telling story, having a surprise, and making your viewer feel for your character. You have a wonder variety of shots. The natural way you let the shots weave in and out is very good. There were a couple of jump cuts but it worked. GREAT JOB
JM KYTV 10 10 9 9 VERY WELL DONE! This story sucked me in from the beginning and held me to the end despite the quality of the file being horrible. Great surprise built in, but didn't hold it to long. Great pacing throughout. Nothing to nit pick here. Great job!

Cases for Smiles JH KYTV 6 8 8 7 I like how each interview was framed in an interesting way. There was a nice variety of NATs. I feel like the delivery of the pillow case came too late. I wish you had some reaction from the girl who got the pillow case.
Cases for Smiles RY KYTV 6 7 8 7 I really like the nats of the laughing and cheerful set up. It set the pace for the story. Nice tight shots and wonderful nats. The award recieving was a little awkward but I'm asuming you had to include it. Great job with letting the viewer connect with your character. Seeing more kids or a little nat pop of the kids talking about their pillow cases might have added a little something too.
Cases for Smiles T.S. KYTV 8 8 8 8 Wonderful story. Loved the beginning with the all the laughing, great way to introduce the ladies doing the sewing. Great effort trying to frame the interviews creatively. Good sequencing and nats. The only thing I didn't like was the award presentation bit but it sounds like a station thing so you probably had no choice but to include it. I'm glad you went to the hospital to show the kids receiving the blankets that goes alot in telling the story and putting a nice bow on it.
Cases for Smiles JM KYTV 8 9 8 8 Great story, loved the tie in of the smiles and happiness of the pillowcase makers with the reason they are there. Awesome variety of shots and sound. I wasn't a fan of the award thing in the middle, but I know you had no choice but to put that in. Great way to end it with a kid getting a case. Closing shot was ok, but didin't give closure to the story. Maybe a wide shot with the kid holding the pillow case, but really glad you went to the hospital with them to see them making the kids smile. Nice work!

T.S. KYTV 8 7 8 8 Really well shot. Good creativity. It really seems like you and your reporter work well together...good writing to go with your video. Good overall effort. My only problem with the story was that your audio seemed to go up and down alot (hopefully not a transfer issue), and a couple edits were a little off.
JH KYTV 8 9 8 9 Great story. It was shot very well. Every shot was a creative shot. I liked all the different ways you shot your sound bites. The NATS supported and enhanced the story very well. I didn't really understand the tight shot of one of the residents mouth and I think could have had a better closing shot, but those are my only criticisms.
8 9 9 10 Fantastic story. To me this is what telling a story is about. It has nats, tons of different shots, and sequences. There are no similar shots. Each one was unique. If I was to be really nit picky I might suggest a few extreme close-ups. I was interested in the story and enjoyed it.
JM KYTV 8 9 9 9 Such a powerful peice! You went beyond just telling the story, you made me feel like I was there.... hard thing to do, but you did it well. All of the angles, and variety of shots, using creative interview framing, made this story go from good to great! The closting shot was the only thing that didn't quite fit to me, it left me wondering... why did you pick that shot? A closing shot needs to put an ending to the story, this shot felt like a throw away shot. Overall, Great story!

JH KYTV 7 9 7 9 The effort put in is very apparent. I can count at least 5 locations and a 4am shoot time, so props on going all out for the story. Lots of good photography here. Good nats, sequences , and variety of shots. The story unfortunatly started to drag for me around the slicing plant. The standup could have been used to show something or give context. The info given in it could have easily been given in a voice track and nothing would have been lost.
T.S. KYTV 7 7 8 8 I feel like this was a tale of two different stories. In parts it was fantastic with really good compelling video, sharp editing, and really good interview framing. The other part of the story needed a little more attention to detail. A couple of times you cut away from the person talking to show them coming into frame and it was confusing bc I couldn't tell if the sound was the interview sound or a nat pop. I think another time you cut away from a tilt up from the mushrooms to show the man talking. It seemed jarring. Finish your pans and tilts. I loved how you guys setup the story and brought the viewer in...and then it seemed to come to a halt with the reporter standup. Not sure that was needed there. Awesome effort though!! NIce work. Lots more good than bad.
RF KYTV 8 8 8 8 Super interesting story. This package is jammed packed with locations so a lot of effort when into this I can tell. You were consitent with your shooting. Lots of well composed shots and vairety. The squences are well done too. I kinda of got lost at the end with the tasting stuff but it wasn't bad. Everything was shot really well but the standup seemed a little simple. The begining was so great but the end was ok. It wasn't as eye catching.
JM KYTV 7 8 7 8 You had me interested right off the bat, Kind of mysterious opening that had me curious. I liked this story, but I felt it was all over the place. So many different locations that it felt like three different stories. It worked ok until the very end where you were in a random kitchen that took me away from the farm. Overall you did a great job tieing them all together, but i never really connected to any one character. But very well done shooting and editing!
