This reminds us of an oral history or of listening to your grandparents speak and we really loved the quality of Dr. Childs’ voice. The pause after “she raised me” is just a little too long - as were a few other pauses (we thought the video had stopped playing), but we do appreciate the pacing overall. It took awhile to get to the nugget about Dr. King, but we genuinely appreciated the ambling nature of the piece. We weren’t sure where the story was going to go, but we didn’t care. We just liked Dr. Childs and being in her company. It felt like being in her living room. We think it’s important to record stories like this before they’re lost. We also liked the use of photos. Well done!
