TWC News KE Grin and Bear It 8 10 9 9 Wonderful! Insane how you can see the heat in your shots. Loved the matching of the shots with the "long, long, long" - it really showed me how long it was. Great moment of the QT drink. "A whole town's worth" also illustrated the point of how many cars. Crisp, clear, car nats and everything was so sharp
TWC News GR Grin and Bear It 9 10 9 10 Good opening sequence, everything's in the same direction -- THAT'S fundamentals. Letting those heat-distortion shots breathe was a confident and excellent choice. The long shots of traffic -- "gorgeous," as one of our reviewers put it. The "long, long, long" edit is very fun. All the characters are great. Good turn on a deadline, on an assignment that clearly took some serious walking and driving.
TWC News KD Grin and Bear It 9 10 10 10 For people just sitting in their cars, you shot and edited a phenomenal piece. Bravo. Funny, newsworthy...the real story, shot really well. Fantastic job!
TWC News TS Grin and Bear It 8 9 10 9 I absolutely loved the varied pacing in your shots. It worked very well. The sound bites were compelling. Your shots - especially wide - were gorgeous. I felt like I was stuck in traffic too. the only thing I would improve is the story would've benefitted from a tighter ending.

TWC News KE Diabetes Rap Video 8 9 9 9 good introduction to teacher with the "magic!" Great reveal. I was wondering where this diabetes rap was going, and I loved the second reveal. You and your reporter clearly had great communication about how you were going to shoot that classroom, and you had great nats from the students. I did want more painting or squriting nats- but that's nit-picking. I liked how you shot the rap video on the phone- I would have thought that would be jarring, but it worked really well.
TWC News GR Diabetes Rap Video 9 10 10 10 NICE! That was so bold, to shoot the phone as though you're shooting a music video, with the zooms, movements, rack focuses. And all on deadline! Your interviews look good, and you don't over-use the set interview shots -- there's plenty of active NATS and soundbytes here. You left the mic on them and let them go, and it really paid off. Thanks for ending on a slow push too, to bring it back down for a nice ending. This shows real talent in shooting and editing. Excellent.
TWC News KD Diabetes Rap Video 8 9 10 8 For a room full of kids, you shot it well! LOVED the cell phone shots! Very creative, unique and different. That's what NPPA is all about -- great editing, sharp!
TWC News TS Diabetes Rap Video 8 9 9 8 I loved how you used full screen images from the rap video and also on a tablet. The short succinct tracks allowed for great integration of nat sound. I thought the slow reveal of the rap was very effective. We got to know your characters first.

TWC News KE Every Second Counts 10 8 10 9 This is amazing. Always a tough decision to stay on that one shot and trust it. This was the perfect opportunity to do it, and made me lean in like crazy and my heart started beating faster. You got me my tights, mediums, and wides with that one shot, and it was perfect. I thought the whole thing was going to be a one shot, and this is the first time I've ever seen a one shot of more than 40 seconds go into other shots, but you had a reveal that I didn't see coming. This was important to tell, and you got that importance across so well.
TWC News GR Every Second Counts 10 9 9 9 Beginning felt so urgent, I loved it. I'm right there for the big rescue attempt. And it helps you save time in the edit process! That low angle shot on the ground needs to be level -- I know it's hard to do quickly, but it's so distracting when it's sideways. For a bunch of snow everywhere, this is sufficiently interesting to watch, and that's the most important and impressive part.
TWC News KD Every Second Counts 9 9 10 10 Wow! The first :40 seconds of the one-shot made my heart nearly stop. What a creative and simple way to visually tell a story. Way to keep up with the urgency and the importance of the piece. Great job with the story.
TWC News TS Every Second Counts 8 9 9 9 I loved the long shots. It felt very active and present. Parallel parking the tracks around what he was saying was impressive.

TWC News KE They Are Here 9 10 8 9 SO many moments!! You just captured all of them and were in the perffect places to do that. They were great characters and you truly showed me how much they care. I cannot even count how many times I said "aw!" in this pkg. Even your standard interview shots had moments in them. There was imporant information in this pkg too about a problem not anywhere near where your were shooting, but I never felt that anything was missing. Wonderful job!!
TWC News GR They Are Here 9 10 7 10 Great moments throughout. You rolled and rolled and rolled, and found yourself in the right place more often than not. Bravo for that. Animals make a piece good, but the photog makes it great -- I really connected with these dogs because of your consistent work and attention to editing details. Way to keep up with those energetic women, too! Glad to see the PKG didn't just end at the airport, good commitment to following through to their next stop. Solid all the way around.
TWC News KD They Are Here 8 9 8 9 Strong piece. Very clean edits with the NAT sounds, and NAT sound bytes. You best used the character, by using as many NAT sounds as she had to offer. I would have loved to see a creative interview frame, but I can see how deadline can be a factor. Great job.
TWC News TS They Are Here 10 9 9 10 What a beautiful story. The moments were all so touching and effective. Well shot and edited. It felt slow - in a good way - but you accomplished a lot in 2:09. The 2 women were such great characters. Nicely done.
