That little boy is ADORABLE! I really like you sprinkled him out throughout the piece. Good close up shots and great nats. Piece flowed well and I like how you shot the old intro to Dallas.
I loved how you started out with the little boy--it was really fun being introduced to the flowers from a child's persepctive. It was filmed so well--I liked the different distances in the interviews so I could see a close up of her face when she was saying emotional things or when she was giving back story I saw more of the flowers and what was going on behind her.
Loved it! Great shooting, storytelling, characters. Beautiful! Nice use of the nats of the kids running around the field. Great ending shot. I thought the introduction of the Dallas theme was a litlte abrupt, seeing as we are outside the whole time and then all of a sudden we're inside for a few seconds then right back out but I see what you were trying to do. Maybe if the situation presents it self again, you could get the interviewee to hum the thing song and have the reporter mention it. Just an idea. I loved the whole story. Nice work overall!

You gave me all the nats and the close ups I could ever want. Great great great hustle. I loved the variety of shots, interviews. I really feel like you and your reporter were insync the entire time -- his writing weaved in the shots you got. I loved the music at the top -- but I could've done without the old-timey effect. Great use of the nat and video from the game, and then effects, to transition the story -- and my emotions. I went from excited for the game and then crushed with the results.
First off, mad props to you guys for braving that frigid weather! I thought this was a super creative way to do this story. I really liked how it was shot--the close up shots of gloves and the warmer packets, the zoom into the Seahawks fans, giving the beginning of the piece that old-timely film feel. You also used your sound bites really well and found some great characters. The stand up tied everything together well and in the end I felt like I was in the stadium braving the cold and sad defeat with everyone.
Great story and a very creative way to tell it. Watch your nat mic. I know we get into these situations where we can't avoid it but try to shoot it in a way that you can't see it in the shot. Just zoom in a little bit or ask you reporter to not hold it so close. I saw it too many times and it was distracting. Overall, really nice intro. All the nats and tight shots of the cold weather stuff and the ending. Great work!

Beautifully shot story and well put together. This is great. Wonderful use of the Go Pro, you didn't overuse it which is great. Just enough for it to do its part. I love the close ups of his eyes, the pen on the paper, just a great story. I could've watched 10 more minutes. I could tell you both were very committed and worked well together while putting together this story.
The opening shots are really beautiful. You really captured the serenity of the lake and the peace he gets from kayaking. From the start I said to myself I hope they used a GoPro and you didn't disappoint! Following him through his journaling and yoga added more great elements, too. I think the pacing of the story was also really nice. You let his sound bites play out perfectly and I found myself really interested in everything he had to say.
Loved the opening sequence. The part where I got lost was when we show the books and say that he loves information. Then we go back outside for a bit and references the books, then we go back inside and he's writing in his notebook. I just think that sequence was a little backward and could have been edited better. Overall, really beautiful piece. His audio seemed kind of hollow. Other than that, very good work!

Very good editing. I liked the creativity of using the different pics and layering them the way you did. The pacing was a bit slow and the story felt a bit long.
I loved how you followed Ike around to all the meaningful spots. You also utilized old pictures, videos and game programs really well to help tell the story. You picked really great sound bites too and let his moments play out. I also liked how a lot of his sound was conversational and told to the reporter as they were going around to the different locations sharing his memories.
Awesome story! Loved the effects with the pictures and the videos. It wasn't too much. Seemed a little bit long and the pacing was very slow. I think the music should have been taken out at certain points. It was too much to have it play the entire story. Great shooting! Great work overall! Loved how natural the story felt. Didn't seem set up.
