We were surprised by how few entries there were in this category. First place shows that the photographer was working to find a different perspective. Second was a well executed take on a familiar moment. Third place captured a dramatic moment, but we felt the composition could have been refined to tell the story more effectively. We felt that the multiple image entry on midwives could have placed if a single image was chosen out of the package. We also wondered if this package should have belonged in picture story. It's a different take on a familiar subject, but we thought the captions lacked any information that would given it a strong news hook.
