We generally wish photographers had included more explicit explanation on what digital additions and alterations were made on images, as the rules request. We enjoyed this strong category, many well-lit photos that took much effort to achieve. We enjoyed the technicality and creative effort behind the basketball image, and nice caption, but hoped for more clarity on how illustration was created as contest rules require. That’s what dropped this to second place for us, instead of first. Swimming portrait offers strong composition, pose and light, but could have used more caption information.
