Sports Action – Overall, probably the best category of images for this contest. Tight shots and great moments. First place “Leap” was a goal-line touchdown and missed tackle that told the story. Even the out-of-focus ref helped. Second place went to the multiple-picture package “Softball.” It was hurt some by a repetitive, blurred-motion shot and a standard infield shot of two players. The remaining images had creative light or motion. If it had been entered as a single, we would’ve given first place to the first blurred-motion image of the pitcher winding up. Beautiful! Third, “Handicapped Golfer,” had immediate visual appeal because the golfer had artificial limbs.
