Moments carried the day for the eventual winners in General News. Strong emotional content, especially as it related to the story, earned our first place award. Second place earned honors as a result of its effective use of visual elements and expressions. It really helped tell the story in a quiet, but effective way. Third place, again, rose to the top for honest emotional engagement. We thought a little tighter crop may have helped a bit.
