1st: One of the stronger emotional moments in this category. Clean, graphic background and good composition. Caught our eye immediately. Might try to tone this a little more to make whites pop. 2nd: We talked about this being general news vs. feature, but ultimately decided on general news since it was at a study which is a planned event. Really eye-catching composition with textures, repetition and lines all working together for a unique perspective. 3rd: Wasn’t as great compositionally as the alternate we chose, but given the category, the news value trumped that. Good capture of emotion that helps give us context of what the air quality is like since not explicitly stated in caption.
