First: Blood, sweat and the potential for tears made this image rise to the top. The exasperated expression was a nice touch. Second: You don’t see fencers doing backwards jumps like that too often and the photographer captured the body language well. Third: Facial expressions in football are hard to capture so when you add flying sweat to the frame it makes it extra special.
