For first place, photog was in right position for clean peak action, nice moment, expression and tight crop. The second image has nice lighting and captured a peak moment. Third place offers a unique perspective that the audience can't see. We eliminated images that weren't sharp, were cropped too loosely, or had backgrounds that were too messy/distracting to ignore.
