Weak category that really lacked moments. Just because a photo has flames doesn't make it a winner. Give me context, give me a sense of the scene, give me some reaction. First place captured the scene and scale of a massive fire well. We saw a few from this and this image really did the best of capturing it. Second place was a single image from a protest gone bad. The same photographer entered as series from the protest that was not edited well at all. Luckily this image was entered by itself and gave us something to award. It was well framed and a good moment.
