The primary problem with an essay category (and it has been this way for decades) is the inability to edit your images to the point that you feel like you’re going to puke. But it doesn’t have to be so gruesome. All you need to remember is to ask yourself sincerely how each image properly advances the story. The revolution of the essay wheel is not from spoke to spoke but from day to day or even month to month. Edit tighter always. When you think you can’t edit anything else, force yourself to edit until it hurts.
