Solid engaging piece. ____________________________ Becca Habegger - Fantastic negotiating between spaces effortlessly - from MOA to MSP and gridlocked highway. It’s worth noting it appears this editor was tasked with aggregating multiple cell phone videos from multiple sources. He then skillfully wove them into a compelling and balanced story in less than four hours (per category rules). Well done, strong first place.

Urgency conveyed, Well sequenced. _____________________________ Becca Habegger - The editor - in less than an hour, per the entry’s title - effectively culled down what was likely a lot of video into a compelling story that not only well summarized the rally but also included a good number of voices. Strong piece.

Jon Menell - Dissolve heavy, but nicely polished fx treatment under deadline. __________________________ Becca Habegger - Given this piece was entered under the deadline category, the opening sequence made good use of effects, setting the tone for the rest of the story. Good pacing, very polished. We saw in this category’s higher placers a topic and sense of urgency that lent themselves more to the spirit of the less-than-four-hour deadline category.

Jon Menell - Great idea and execution, audio structure was strong. Humor was great. I wanted a button or ending of some kind beyond just “day ends” _______________________ Becca Habegger - I’m quite charmed by this piece. It’s fun and employs some really creative techniques. While it’s not as urgent as some of the top placers in this category, this story is still incredibly impressive. It appears the editor had many cameras and sources of audio to cull down into a fun vignette of the Preakness. Clever, effective use of time lapse. Had a very “hip” feel. Great use of sound under video. Effective use of interview subjects. Good length.
